Books and writing have been a part of my family for a long time. In the mid 1940's, my grandfather, Boyd Lucas opened the Lucas Bookstore in Berkeley, California. For the next three decades it was run by him and then by my father. It was across the street from the University of California, so if you went to CAL during that time you might have used the store.

My grandmother and mother both wrote and have had short stories and children's books published. My sister is involved in the theater and writes, acts, and directs. I am told that the poet Robert Frost is also in the family tree. With all this background it seemed only a matter of time that I would get involved in one or the other. I ended up in both.

Almost eight years ago, my wife Abby and I bought a bookstore in Redding, Ca. The store is All About Books and we relocated it to 1301 Court St. Let me tell you it is great to have an unlimited supply of books to read. I started writing in the 90's and had my first books published by an e-book company in Canada that went out of business before we got too far. Ahead of the times I guess.

I like to read a variety of fiction styles and so it goes with my writing. The first two e-books books were science fiction. The first print book, Four Paths to Forever, is an archeological adventure. The sequel, Beyond Forever: Journey to Tulmic, is a little of both. Book three, Abigor: The First Battle is a Christian fantasy about modern day demon fighters. Number four, Ice Queen, is another archeological adventure with a new cast of characters.

I have several new ones in the works which include a third book in the Forever series, a natural disaster/end of world type, the sequel to Abigor and a couple of others in early development. I hope to have the next one completed by the end of 2013, work schedules permitting. I just don't know for sure which one it will be.

I believe a story can get get so lost in details, (I call it fluff), that the reader can lose interest, I know I do. My stories are fast moving and give you enough detail to make the story flow. I want you to be able to use some of your own imagination.
