Ivet Graham-Morgan

Born and raised on the sunny island of Jamaica, Ivet Graham-Morgan spent the first 16 years of her life in a remote village nestled in the charming parish of St. Catherine known for its natural resources. Surrounded by the beauty of unspoiled landscape, Ivet and her peers spent countless hours in the inviting outdoors roaming the landscape--climbing over hilly terrains, exploring bubbling springs, noisy brooks, and dashing rivers. She looks forward to some day writing stories inspired by these experiences.

Ivet is an alumnus of St. Joseph's Teachers' College and a former school teacher employed by the Jamaican Ministry of Education. In 1980 she migrated to Ontario, Canada where she has worked in Banking as well as for the Toronto Police Services Board.

Ivet is an avid reader, a habit she developed while still in grade school. Her favorite authors back then were Enid Blyton, Carolyn Keene, Sheila Stuart, and Barbara Cartland. Ivet thoroughly enjoyed the work of these authors and dreamt of one day becoming a writer but this dream was delayed, mainly because of certain events in her life.

While still in her early 20s, Ivet became a wife and mother to two beautiful children. A divorce later on saw her being cast in the role of single parent and the sole bread winner of her household. This meant she had to focus on the reality of making sure there was a guaranteed pay cheque coming in.

Today, Ivet is a retiree with grown children and time to spare--with the luxury of this new-found freedom, Ivet has returned to her first love. She has written a few children's books including The Yellow Hummer which was inspired by a personal experience.
