I usually write these in the third person, but, hey, why not just do it right? I was born on Fort Hood, Texas, on July 8, 1955, the fourth in the family and the youngest. I have spent most of my life right here in southeastern Virginia, where I indulge in my hobbies of growing orchids and other exotic plants, sailing, painting, and, of course, writing.
I have recently retired from a long career in various aspects of manufacturing and machine shop work, from being an inspector to tool and die design. Odd for a guy who really does not like machines! Just sort of fell into it when I found trouble getting a job in the construction industry with my A.A.S. in Arch. Tech.
So, anyway, now I am hoping to get around to writing all these books that have been knocking around in my head all these years, from horror to sci-fi, from fantasy to my latest series, Pyrates, a sea saga of war and revolution set in an imaginary world much like our own. And between bouts of literary genius I will sail about the Chesapeake Bay on my ancient 1974 Seafarer 29 sloop, attend pirate festivals and ren fairs, and try to enjoy the remainder of this most interesting gift called life. (And likely as not drink one too many ales, as I am truly a pirate at heart!)
Hope you might take time to enjoy some of my works, and if you do, the leaving of reviews or at least ratings is always appreciated, good or bad, by we Indie authors.
Best to you, Jim
