William Barrett Burton

After a long, successful career as a senior corporate executive in high technology and corporate aviation, Burton picked up his pen and rediscovered a love of writing. His years in business provide him with a unique perspective on human behavior as well as the politics inherent in the corporate structure. He tells a good story and tells it well in a style that keeps the reader turning pages long into the night.

Dagney grew out of a frustration I have had for years with Hollywood in which every leading lady NEEDS a man to save her in reel two. My vision is a strong, capable leading female character who is also vulnerable and feminine. Yet, she is far from perfect. Deeply scared by the death of her father when she was 12 and events in her career as a policewoman, she escapes into the world of science until events drag her back to the world she thought she left behind. There she must face her fears and her past to save lives."

Outside of writing, his interests include racing his classic Porsche, flying and travel. These days he splits his time between Phoenix, Arizona and the picturesque gold country of Northern California.
