Marijke Hoek is the co-editor of the books 'Micah's Challenge. The Church's Responsibility for the Global Poor' and 'Carnival Kingdom: Biblical justice for global communities'.
Her Master in Applied Theology and PhD from Regents Theological College/University of Manchester concerned the topic of suffering and weakness, and the role of the Spirit pertaining to these matters. She is part of the adjunct faculty at Regents TC where she teaches in modules on biblical justice for the poor at Undergraduate and Masters level.
Marijke is the former co-ordinator Theology and o-ordinator of the Forum for Change Evangelical Alliance in the UK, which concerns strategic thinking and action in the cultural drivers such as arts, media, education, arts, politics, sports and business to bring wellbeing in society.
She is a regualr contributor on BBC Manchester, where she gives the Thought for the Week and the review of the papers, and is the author of numerous articles.
Originally from the Netherlands, Marijke emigrated to Manchester in 1989. The only time she really resents being in the UK is when the Dutch are skating on the canals in Holland.
