Kathy Stevenson

Kathy Stevenson's feature articles and essays have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, Baltimore Sun, Christian Science Monitor, The Writer, and many others. She has also published short fiction in the Pioneer Press (2 fiction awards), American Way, South Boston Literary Gazette, Clapboard House, and Red Rock Review. She is a regular contributor to www.newsworks.org, the online news source for WHYY (NPR) in Philadelphia.

Kathy got her start as a weekly columnist at The Beach Reporter in Manhattan Beach, California. Or her real start might have been as co-editor of The Golden Trident, the school newspaper at Golden High School in Golden, Colorado. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Bennington College in Vermont. She is married to Joseph T. Cox, author of the poetry collection Garden's Close and The Written Wars: American War Prose Through the Civil War.
