Lauren Targ

Lauren Targ was born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois. She has worked in the theater as an actor, director and writer. She spent several years in the film business working as an art director. Teaching since high school, she spent many years developing programming and curriculum for inner city youth working on playwriting, acting and filmmaking. Her art installations have been shown in galleries and museums around the country. Her most recent work comprises¬ a collaborative on-going audio piece entitled, “The Crush Project” (www.crushproject.org). She was also Director of Video for the highly visible Crown Fountain in Millennium Park on the famous North Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois.

She is trained in many healing techniques and is a certified Reiki master healer. Her natural knack for counseling, healing and motivating led her to her current positions teaching and advising at Columbia College Chicago. She earned her B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Lake Forest College, and an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago.
