I live on the shores of Loch Awe in Argyll, Scotland with my wife Lynn McGregor, who is a professional artist (www.lynnmcgregor.co.uk).
Most of my working week is spent editing. I am an Advanced Professional Member of Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) and specialties include developmental editing of fiction for self-publishing authors; copy-editing and proofreading of fiction and non-fiction titles for mainstream publishers; and editing of law books for a number of UK publishers. More on my editorial work, including titles I've edited and endorsements from clients, can be found at www.thebluecabin.com/editing.
I have had three books published and am working on a fourth. 'The Blue Cabin' (2006) chronicles our first year on the (otherwise) uninhabited island of Islandmore, on Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland, where my wife and I lived for twelve years before moving to Scotland. An illustrated follow-up, 'Still On The Sound' was published by Blackstaff Press in 2009; and my latest book, the history of a Belfast mill, was published in December 2013. For more information on my books see www.thebluecabin.com.
