I am a long time flow cytometrist having by chance stumbled on the propidium iodide hypotonic citrate method for rapid staining of cells for DNA content and cell cycle analysis by laser flow cytometry.

I have used flow cytometry for cell cycle analysis, to monitor effect of drugs on cell cycle traverse, study of fluorescent drug retention and efflux, drug resistance and tumor cell analysis for marker expression.

My major achievement is that I initated the Cytometry workshops which train researchers in developing countries such as India, Turkey and ASEAN countries in latest methods for flow analysis. So far we have held 11 workshops in India, and three each in Turkey and ASEAN Countries. These workshops are taught by faculty from abroad in collaboration with local faculty and experts.
