Sharon Hickey

I was born and raised in the city of Washington, DC. I was a Congressional staffer in DC for 31 years. I loved sending birthday cards and thank you notes, so it was probably fate that I landed in a career where we answered hundreds of letters a week! My years working on the Hill gave me a whole new understanding of the power of the written word. My story, "Card Auntie's Wonderful Workshop", grew from these roots. I have been drawing for my whole life. After I retired from government service, I completed a bachelor's degree in visual arts, with a concentration on children's literature and illustration. I wrote a little rhyming story about my sister's cat, Chloe, and read the story out loud to three little friends. They were very enthusiastic that I should illustrate my story! Mirror Publishing published "Chloe the Shoe Cat" in 2014. I hope you enjoy my books and leave your thoughts in a review.
