Julie Chimes is the daughter of famous parents, her mother was one of the most beautiful women in the world and her step father Max Wall a legendary British comedian. A bohemian upbringing in the heart of London's theatre land and the beautiful island of Jersey gave her a taste for cosmopolitan life and a love of story-telling and making people laugh.
She grew up to become a successful businesswoman, racing cars and working in London as director of marketing for two innovative companies. However in her early thirties her life was irrevocably changed during a frenzied knife attack by a paranoid schizophrenic, who had entered Julie's cottage home on a mission to save the world. In the midst of her attempted murder, much to her amazement Julie discovered that she existed beyond her body. From this place beyond physical form she found that she felt love, compassion and profound forgiveness towards her deranged attacker. In a blaze of light the answers to life's big questions began to be revealed and an enthusiasm and longing to understand the true purpose of human life exploded within her.
Left lying in her driveway and given up as dead by the first on the scene, her subsequent survival from the multiple stab wounds was considered to be something of a miracle. Julie promised to devote her second chance at life to understanding more about the place of total peace, profound compassion and love that she had discovered within herself. The doorway between this world and the next remained open and her experiences and adventures in and beyond body continued.
During the last twenty years Julie has travelled to many countries, where she has lived and studied with saints, sages, healers and mystics. Her autobiographical story, 'A Stranger in Paradise' has been published in several languages and has attracted what her publisher described as 'unprecedented' media attention around the world. She also wrote the script and co-directed a highly acclaimed BBC documentary about her near death experience.
Julie has shared her unique understanding and perspectives with audiences around the world and is an inspired motivational speaker, workshop facilitator and spiritual counsellor. In 2008 Julie was awarded the honour of becoming a 'Hero of Forgiveness' by the Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance based in the USA, in recognition of her work in this field. She is currently living in secret corners of Europe, far away from the invasion of marauding investors.
