Donna Sheehan

Donna Sheehan and Paul Reffell have collaborated on many projects in their twenty-year creative partnership. They share a deep fascination with the human condition, with “Cultural Potholes” – the unseen or ignored parts of human existence that cause so much damage – and with the differences that have evolved between men and women. They are proud to call themselves Evolutionary Behaviorists.

BrainLines was one of their first collaborations and the foundation of their later work together. Their investigation of these physical markers of brain hemisphere influence, building on the decades of Donna’s previous observations, continued through the years, as they used their knowledge in all their interactions with other people. They found BrainLines to be so useful that they knew they had to share their findings in this book.

Donna & Paul’s other work includes environmental activism (www.MowAndSow.org); peace activism involving women (www.BaringWitness.org); using Darwinian sexual selection theory to teach women about their innate ability to select and guide their mates (www.SeductionRedefined.com), which led to the idea of producing a documentary film (www.TheEveOption.org); and a series of panels, workshops and newspaper articles that bring to light some of the most insidious and damaging Cultural Potholes (www.CulturalPotholes.com).

Donna co-founded a community radio station (www.KWMR.org) and they have co-created interactive art installations and an award that honors the great women that stand beside great men – the Dolley Madison Partnership Award. They have been interviewed and featured internationally on television, radio, the Internet and in documentary films.
