Staness Jonekos

Staness Jonekos is an advocate for women's health, wellness and empowerment. An award-winning television writer, producer and director, she was one of the original executive producers who launched the television network Oxygen Media, cofounded by Oprah Winfrey.

Following her commitment to health, Staness co-executive produced the premiere season of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club, and post produced Lifetime's Speaking of Women's Health.

She co-authored her first book, The Menopause Makeover, with Wendy Klein MD that has been recently updated with the latest science for the 2nd edition, 2016. It is a pioneering work in the field of menopause, a highly visual and inspiring survival guide that challenges the conventional, old-style approach to managing menopause.

Her second book, Eat Like a Woman (And Never Diet Again), is based on the latest research showing that men and women metabolize food and lose weight differently. This groundbreaking three-step program is tailored specifically to the needs of the female body. Staness and leading women's health expert Dr. Marjorie Jenkins show the reader how to lose weight without deprivation using the Eat Like a Woman Food Pyramid designed just for women. This program will revolutionize the way women think about food.

Staness has appeared on The Today Show, contributes to The Huffington Post, as well as Dr. Oz's ShareCare.com and has been featured in a variety of publications ranging from The Houston Chronicle to More.com.

After college, Staness appeared on The Love Boat, Falcon's Crest, and The Young & Restless, as well as co-hosting Shop Television Network.

She is an active member of the Producers Guild of America, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the International Documentary Association, The North American Menopause Society, Academy of Women's Health, and the International Menopause Society.

Staness says that her three careers - producing/writing for television, working on-camera and authoring two books - revealed her purpose to crusade for women's health - a woman's right.
