Ray Gaston

Ray Gaston is Team Vicar of St Chad & St Marks in the Parish of Central Wolverhampton and Inter Faith Enabler for the Wolverhampton Episcopal Area and Advisor on Inter Faith relations to the Bishops of Wolverhampton and Lichfield. He was from 2008-2016 Tutor in Inter Faith Engagement at the Queens Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education in Birmingham and has served in parish ministry in multi faith areas in Leeds, Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Ray writes and teaches on practical and political theology with a focus on the impact on Christian self-understanding of transformative grassroots interfaith engagement. He is author of 'A Heart Broken Open - Radical Faith in an Age of Fear' (Iona 2010) and 'Faith, Hope & Love - Interfaith Engagement as Practical Theology' (SCM 2017) and a member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland's Inter Faith Theological Advisory Group. Ray links his writing and research to an activism in the local communities where he lives and to a concern for campaigning on wider social and political issues, particularly in how they impact on inter faith action and solidarity.

Ray is married to his soul friend Annie Heppenstall an author on Christian and Earth Based spiritualties and volunteer health care Chaplain.
