Shannon Hart

Shannon Hart was born to Indonesian parents in 1977 in Sacramento, California where she lived until the age of 9. The family, including a younger brother, Lance, moved to Jakarta, Indonesia where they all now still currently reside in. At the age of 16, Shannon went to study in Melbourne, Australia – where she spent some of the best years of her adolescence. Learning to be independent, confident and creative came from her experience while in Australia.

Writing had always been her passion; she started by writing short stories and general articles for her high school magazine in Jakarta, and while she was in Australia, Shannon met a friend who shared her passion of reading and writing and actually enjoyed reading the stories she had written. It was this friend’s positive response to her stories that encouraged her to actually try it out for real. She never actually finished or followed through completely and had a million excuses for not doing so: her day job, getting married, having children, etc. In 2008 – thirteen years after her friend, Marizca, told her to try writing an actual book, she finally managed to sit down and complete an entire novel.

Aside from reading and writing, Shannon enjoys listening to music and discovering new artists, watching movies and television (she knows the TV Guide by heart) and shopping to the point that she probably would need an intervention soon. Too bad there is no Shopaholics Anonymous program where she currently lives.

Shannon has been married to her husband, Michael, since 2003, and together they have 2 beautiful children, Matthew and Mikaela. She thanks God for everyday she is alive because it means she gets to see them.
