I was born on the Wirral back in 1957. Spending most of my early years going from job to job, I always knew I wanted to write. Being unemployed for many years meant I could spend endless hours in front of the typewriter. However, although I devoted all of this time to my writing, none of it really paid off. Eventually, when I was 29 I decided to get myself educated and six years later I graduated from Liverpool University and became a teacher. I loved it, right from the beginning, and I still do. It's a job that has taken me from Cornwall, to Alderney, to the East coast to Spain. And I've never wanted to do anything else...
Except write.
In 2009 I had my first book published, 'The Well of Constant Despair'. My next one was 'Cold Hell in Darley Dene'. Soon, I was writing more, having books accepted and published, but it is not as easy as people think! I write every day, and often that can be difficult after having been at work. But weekends and holidays see me creating much more, and now, as STUART G YATES I have written adult thrillers, which people seem to enjoy.
My first completed novel was rejected back in 1979, but I've never stopped. Why not check out my work and see how I've done! You can find me on www.glennstuart.co.uk and my blog www.authorstuartgyates.wordpress.com.
Thanks for stopping by, and good reading.
