In 1997, my wife, Jessica, acquired a severe brain injury in an automobile accident. Since then I have been studying how people recover from and live purposeful lives with a serious brain injury. I have written many articles for brain injury publications and presented my research conclusions at national and regional conferences.
My work is informed not only by my research and my personal experiences as Jessica's caregiver, but also by the shared expertise of a panel of more than 300 brain injury survivors, caregivers, family members, and medical professionals. You can read more about the Successfully Surviving a Brain Injury Project at www.BrainInjurySuccess.org.
This project is a labor of love. All profits from my book will be donated to brain injury organizations in the U.S. and Canada.
