Diane A. Welland

Diane A. Welland, M.S., R.D., is a registered dietitian, freelance writer/consultant and author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Cleanİ 2009 Alpha Books. As a registered dietitian she knows how important it is to eat good, healthy food that will keep you feeling energized, alert and happy throughout the day. As a busy working mother of three she also knows how difficult it can be to put nutritious dinners on the table. Eating clean is all about eating whole, natural, healthy foods, free of chemicals, additives and preservatives. But, it’s more than just a diet, it’s a lifestyle.

Diane is currently an advisor and regular contributor to Clean Eating magazine. She also teaches nutrition at Northern Virginia Community College. Her work can be seen in Relish Magazine, Today's Dietitian, Cowboys and Indians, Vegetarian Times, Sizzle, Spry Living magazine and Scientific American Mind. She is former contributing editor for Environmental Nutrition Newsletter and has been interviewed for The Washington Post, USA Today, Cable Radio News What’s Cookin’, CNN and KOPN Food Sleuth. Diane is an active member of the American Dietetic Association's Food and Culinary Practice Group and chair of the Nutrition and Food Science Section of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. She is a past Manager of Nutrition Services/Media Spokesperson for the National Restaurant Association in Washington, DC.
