Audra A. Diptée is an author, historian, and educator. She writes, speaks, and teaches about the role of history in the fight for social justice in the present.
Her work has been supported by various programs including The Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center (Italy), Yale University's Gilder Lehrman Center, and l'Université de Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris).
She was also awarded the 12-month post of Visiting Public Humanities Faculty Fellow at the Jackman Humanities Institute at the University of Toronto in support of her project "Chained in Paradise: How history was used to change the future (A Caribbean Story)".
Audra is a history professor at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). She specializes in the history of the Caribbean and Africa.
