Sylvia Schwarzkopf

Sylvia Schwarzkopf was born in South Africa in 1951. She won literary prizes in school, but left South Africa in 1970 mainly because of her anti-apartheid beliefs.

"An Apricot tree in Africa" is her first full-length novel, with her next one due at the end of 2010.

The most pressing question Sylvia deals with in her writing is how to create understanding: on all levels, for all people. The most difficult thing for her to accept, is that there is no hope of people, nations and enemies looking for positive ways to dissolve all the superfluous hate engulfing the world.
