Dave Hnida

Dr. Dave Hnida is a board-certified family physician from Littleton, Colorado. At age 48, when most people are retiring from the military, Dave joined the Army Reserve and volunteered for a tour of duty to Iraq. His first deployment in 2004 was spent as a battalion surgeon with the 160th MPs, caring for American soldiers and captured Iraqi insurgents. In 2007, Dave returned to Iraq, this time as a trauma physician with the 399th Combat Support Hospital outside of Tikrit. His experiences with the 399th form the basis of his first book, Paradise General.
