Gordon R. Dragt

I describe my approach to intentional leadership as a doorman, a schmoozer, and a producer. This transformational style of leadership was developed out of a solid academic background and an expansive diversity of ministry experiences in a wide variety of locations. I have an AB from Hope College, BD from Western Theological Seminary, and ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary.

I was for twenty years a member of the adjunct faculty of the Center for the Arts, Religion, and Education (C.A.R.E.), Berkeley, CA, in the field of worship and the arts. I am a Fellow in the Society for Arts, Religion, and Contemporary Culture and serve on the Society's Board of Directors; was honored as Arts Minister of the year by C.A.R.E.; and have over forty years of experience transforming declining town, suburban, and city churches into thriving diverse arts-friendly, multicultural congregations. I served on the Board of Directors of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick, NJ, and am active on the seminary's Anti-Racism Transformation Team and Visiting Artist Committee.

I am Emeritus Senior Minister of the Collegiate Churches of NYC, where I served for twenty years as Senior Minister of Middle Collegiate Church, during which time it was transformed from a near dead church into a dynamic and hugely diverse city-wide and regional ministry to over one thousand people.
