Stuart was a teacher, for many years; in Korea, California, Canada and London(UK). He was born on Wearside, but first went into farming and onto the Royal Agricultural College in Glos -- where a friend said he should be at university studying English! This came to happen ten years later in Vancouver/BC and a first book of poems appeared in the final year, 'Whitlathe Walrus'; followed by 'Souter Steel' and 'Dotterel Dene'. But 'Londinium Poeta' (2009) was the best; written while teaching in West London. Stories about a London teacher also came out last year: 'Tales out of School' -- trying to change the world or how we think about it. He is a member of Mensa-UK and still teaching... writing and rereading Raymond Chandler, Dylan Thomas and Ernest Hemingway.
