Holly Holbert

Holly Holbert was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. She is the youngest of five children. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in geography and elementary education. She met Bruce while attending the university. They were married in December 1985. She and Bruce live on six acres overlooking Long Lake on the Spokane River. They have three children: Natalie, 18; Luke, 17; and Jackson. 15. She is a stay-at-home mom.

Bruce Holbert earned an M.F.A. in creative writing from the Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa, where he held a Teaching-Writing Fellowship. His work has appeared in The Antioch Review, The Iowa Review, Other Voices, Crab Creek Review, The Inlander, Hotel Amerika, The Spokesman Review, The Tampa Tribune, and The West Wind Review. He has worked for 24 years as a high school teacher in Jerome, Idaho; St. John, Washington; and at Mt. Spokane and Rogers high schools in Spokane, Washington. He has been married 24 years and has three children.
