Biography
Inge Etzbach was born in Germany in 1932. Because of her experiences during WWII and the Hitler years she came to feel a deep connection with Israel and Palestine. She was a member of the Hitler Youth and lived through allied bombing raids and the collapse of her country. The defining experience of her life came when she saw starving holocaust survivors leaving a camp. Since then questions of ethics and morality are of major interest to her and color other issues dealing with life and death and the overriding importance of and need for compassion.
When her youngest child started school, Inge entered College and studied Philosophy, graduating in 1985 with a B.A. in Philosophy and in 1991 with a M.A. in Political Science. She is also an ordained Interfaith Minister. In 1987 she spent several months in Israel, working in a kibbutz and as a Volunteer for Israel on an Israeli army base. Over the next few years she participated in several Peace-Building Delegations, interacting with Israeli and Palestinian officials and ordinary citizens in Israel and the West Bank and participating in Mideast Workshops. She also travelled extensively in the area on her own.
She has three grown children and lives in New York City and Copake Falls, NY
