C. J. Hoppin

Author C. J. Hoppin has been an Admissions Liaison Officer for the U.S. Air Force and Air Force ROTC Scholarships since 1981. He is is a senior marketing and public relations executive with wide international experience as a communicator in computer, telecommunications, on-line information and fund raising development enterprises. His services include specialized writing, crisis management, executive, marketing and human resources communications.

Hoppin was formerly Vice President and Director of Corporate Relations and Advertising for ITT Information Services, Inc. in New York City. For two decades, he was also a volunteer campaign director for The Advertising Council, Inc. Previously, he held senior marketing communications posts with Perkin-Elmer Corporation and Ampex Corporation. He was also a U.S. Air Force public affairs officer in Ohio, Turkey and New York from 1964 to 1970.

Born in the Bronx, NY, Hoppin received his BS degree in history and political science from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA, in 1964 and his MA degree in public communications from Fordham University in New York in 1994. He retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Colonel in 1993.

He and his wife, the former Barbara Ann Powers of Springfield, MA, have four adult children and six grandchildren and reside on Peaks Island, part of Portland, Maine.
