John Cherrie

John Cherrie is a retired Research Director at the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Emeritus Professor of Human Health at Heriot-Watt University.

He has worked as a scientists for over 40 years, involved in occupational and environmental exposure science and epidemiology. His research interests include human exposure assessment, environmental and occupational epidemiology, natural and synthetic fibres - including asbestos, dermal exposure to chemicals and dermatitis, and particulate air pollution.

He has co-written the book Monitoring for Health Hazards at Work (5th Edition) and contributed chapters to a number of other books.
