I have lived in eastern Kentucky all my life. I love the hills and hollows and the folks who share this wonderland with me. My heritage supplies a wealth of inspiration for my stories.
Writing has been a hobby of mine for many years. I like the complexity of people and enjoy creating unique characters. Once I start a story, I am impatient to see where (my people) will take me and from what dire circumstance I will inevitably have to rescue them.
I like to write in two genres, Appalachian, a subject I know well and Fantasy, where I can allow my mind to create imaginary creatures like I did as a child. In either category I try to create unforgettable characters and stories.
I have attended creative writing classes at Morehead State University and Ashland Community College and am a member of the Appalachian Heritage Writers Group.
