Paul Pruitt has worked for the Bounds Law Library, University of Alabama, since 1986. He has been Special Collections Librarian for almost that long. He is also co-editor and contributor to the Occasional Publications of the Bounds Law Library. In 2013 the Law School released the series' eighth volume, Traveling the Beaten Trail: Charles Tait's Charges to Federal Grand Juries, 1822-1825. Prior to coming to Tuscaloosa, Pruitt taught for Montgomery Academy and Auburn University at Montgomery. Since 2009 he has taught a summer school course in early English legal history, titled "From the Dark Ages to the Black Death." Beginning in Fall 2012 he has taught a seminar course titled "Alabama Legal History." He has also taught as an adjunct for the UA 's College of Arts and Science and for the Library School.
