In addition to the volumes listed here, commissioned contributions by Professor David B. Peabody have also appeared in the Dictionary of Major Biblical Interpreters (InterVarsity, 2007), New Testament. History of Interpretation (Abingdon, 2004), the Dictionary of Biblical Interpretation (Abingdon, 1999), the Historical Handbook of Major Biblical Interpreters (InterVarsity, 1998) The International Bible Commentary (Liturgical Press, 1998).

He has also contributed to eight other volumes of essays relating to Biblical study, the Perkins School of Theology Journal, the Journal of Biblical Literature and the electronic Review of Biblical Literature. His publications also appear under the following names: David Barrett Peabody, D. B. Peabody and David Peabody.

For a more popular audience, Professor Peabody contributed a chapter on his colleague's 11 years at Nebraska Wesleyan University to Harvey H. Potthoff. A Life in Process edited by Richard L. Phillips and published in 2013.

A native Texan, who received his B. A., M. Th. and Ph. D. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Professor Peabody has been teaching at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln since 1984. His primary teaching area and research specialty is Biblical Languages and Literature, but he also teaches courses in Historical Theology, Understanding Religion: Jews and Christians, and a Liberal Arts Seminar titled "Views of the Ancient World with Modern Technology." Peabody has served as President of the NWU faculty (1990-1992), Chair of the Department of Religion (1989-1992), Chair of a combined Department of Religion and Philosophy (1992-1999) and Chair of the Humanities Division, including the Departments of English, Modern Languages, Philosophy and Religion (2004-2006). He received the Burlington Northern Foundation Faculty Achievement award for teaching excellence during academic year, 1990-1991 and the Scholar Award from the Faculty Development Committee at Nebraska Wesleyan, 2011-2012. Professor Peabody is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Biblical Literature (National Unit Co-Chair, "Markan Literary Sources," 2010-2015), the Catholic Biblical Association and the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas.
