Michael Harper Cox was born in South America to British colonial parents. His early education started in British then American schools in Buenos Aires. This led him to the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and then a year in Rome studying photography, eventually settling in London working in publishing and design. Michael has traveled extensively and also lived for many years in Spain.
It is the exotic location and events of his childhood that has inspired Michael to write
Legacy of Hope. This, added to the complications of being gay in the post WWII makes for
an interesting story. Not a memoir as such, Legacy of Hope, is largely autobiographical in detail of place and time but it is not his story. The characters and events described in this novel, although loosely based on real people, are entirely fictional.
