Shirley Baskett

My autobiography is in print and available as an e-book, along with a book compiled of several true stories from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. My fiction books which are being released in print one by one. The most popular so far has been 'Heaven's Edge'. They lure unsuspecting readers into new worlds, strange tales and my sometimes quirky sense of humour. Tim Bones is the memoir about my father.

My inspiration has come from my faith, my life in New Zealand and Australia, and my patient husband. I love sci-fantasy stories, and supernatural tales.

My children's books were mostly inspired by two nephews who came to live with us at ages 10 and 12. Being the instant guardian of these young lives, it was fun to hear their thoughts and join their worlds. Marama's Angel was written especially for my nephew Tim and Home Page was inspired by a holiday in Fiji with both Tim and Sam.

Heaven's Edge was helped in the technical details by a biker who had come to live with us when he first found Jesus. I was indebted to him for his descriptions of bikes and the graphics depictions of coming of a bike as my central character in this story does. Being given an onsite education by the matron of the Auckland head injuries ward, was also of great value. This story is set around the 1980's in Auckland, New Zealand.
