R. J. Dent is a poet, novelist and translator. His latest book is a novel, Deliverance. His works include two other novels (Myth and Revelation); a short story collection (Gothiques & Fantastiques); and a poetry collection (Moonstone Silhouettes). His modern English translations include The Songs of Maldoror and Lautréamont’s Apocrypha ( Lautréamont); The Flowers of Evil and Fanfarlo (Baudelaire); Soluble Fish and The Surrealist Manifesto (André Breton); Capital of Pain and Misfortunes of the Immortals (Paul Éluard); Alcaeus’s Poems & Fragments, Alfred Jarry’s Speculations; and Pierre Louys’s Her Three Daughters. R J Dent has also written a critical study of Emily Dickinson's poetry, and Screaming at the Window, a true crime study of Blanche Monnier, the Prisoner of Poitiers.
