Carl Patrick

Carl Patrick was born in Oxford. He has been writing fiction since he was at school. His humorous short stories used to regularly delight his young friends, who would gather at his feet as he read to them aloud.

After graduating in Marine Biology, Carl moved to London to train as a Chartered Accountant. However, his emerging homosexuality distracted him from his studies far too much, and he decided he wasn't a very good accountant anyway, so he took up writing more seriously.

The 3 books in the Netherhall Gardens series are his first works on a contemporary gay theme with the main character being a young trainee Chartered Accountant discovering his true sexuality at a time when a gay serial murderer is striking fear into London's gay community. Much of it is based on Carl’s own life experiences, except perhaps the bits where people get murdered.

Carl survived 15 years in London but now lives in Brighton – the gay capital of the English South Coast. He runs his own small business, enjoys cooking and entertaining friends, regularly visits the gym and is learning to play the piano. He also loves reading, travelling and listening to music. However, he derives much of his enjoyment from writing and is currently working on a number of new stories.
