Chris Trengove

Following forays into journalism, advertising and the music business, I've been a professional writer for most of my adult life. During my career I've been involved in three pop culture classics, including two iconic TV animation series: THUNDERCATS, for which I was one of the original writing team, and BOB THE BUILDER, which I co-developed and for which I wrote numerous episodes. Other animation shows which I have written, script edited and/or developed continue to be broadcast around the world, the latest being TURBOZAURS, tales of dinosaurs that transform into mighty machines. The third classic is a book, FULL MOON, widely regarded as the definitive bio of rock legend Keith Moon. Written with long-time co-writer Peter Lawrence and Moon aide Peter Butler, it was published by W H Allen in 1981, republished by Faber & Faber in 2012 and is still in print.

I have written a trilogy of novels for young adults, comprising CLAWS OF FURY (originally published by Bloomsbury) CLAWS OF THUNDER and CLAWS OF VENGEANCE. All are available on Amazon. Peter Lawrence and I have co-written a number of novels for adults, including IT'S YOUR MONEY IN MY POCKET, DEAR, NOT MINE IN YOURS and ENGULFED IN A TIDE OF FILTH. Both originally published by Quartet Books, they are available on Amazon, along with a sequel, THE MAO TSE TUNG WORKERS REVOLUTIONARY STRIPTEASE EMPORIUM. Our dystopian steampunk trilogy FRANKENSTEIN VIGILANTE comprises three novels: THE INCORRUPTIBLES; THE FEAR; and THE RECKONING. We have also published three horror novellas: BLOOD RANCH; LOOM: ISLAND OF TERROR; and NIGHT OF THE DOGS, available in one volume entitled BLOOD, FANGS AND CLAWS. Our most recent novel is a sixties-set dark comedy, FLASH CHORD.

In recent years I have branched out into the world of theatre, translating well-known German playwright Fred Apke's play DAS HUHN AUF DEM RUCKEN into English for the UK market under the title PRETTY DEAD. Most recently my play ROCK AND A HARD PLACE was showcased at Oxford's Burton Taylor Theatre as part of Oxford Playhouse's PLAYMAKER programming.
