Anne Forrest

Anne Forrest (1945, E) was born in Penmaenmawr and now lives in Trefriw, in the Conwy Valley. She gained a First Class Hons at Bangor University - MArts in ‘English Literature with Creative Writing’ 2015-2019, and has completed a Masters at the University of Chester, ‘Writing and Publishing Fiction’ 2019-2020. Her common-folk biography, My Whole World, Penmaenmawr (in 2nd print) was published by Old Bakehouse Publications, Abertillery, in 2000. Her Gothic novel, Lilies if the Valley, made the strong longlist in the Cinnamon Press Debut Novel Award 2018, and is now being re-written under a new title. Her novel, Quinn made the ‘Mention with Honours’ at Cinnamon, in 2020

'Cautiously Tiptoeing…Out of the Light', a themed collection of short stories written by Anne Forrest and Judy Price, was published on Amazon Kindle and in paperback in September/October 2020, followed by 'Cautiously Tiptoeing…Into the Thirteen Days of Christmas', in December 2020.

As one of the winners in Bridgehouse Publications ‘Transforming Communities: Waterloo Festival 2020’, her work can be seen in their combined collection, Transformations: Winner of 2018 2019 & 2020 Waterloo Festival Writing Competition, published by Bridgehouse, in November 2020, and in CafeLit 10.

Her series of six, children’s stories, set in the NT’s Bodnant Garden ‘to educate and entertain children’ is published on Amazon, April 2021. Beautifully illustrated by Laura Stenhouse 'Timothy Crumble Explores Bodnant Garden' is her first children’s book.
