I am a scientist, trained specifically with a PhD in the field of reproductive endocrinology. With that background, I conducted research at the University of Michigan Medical School for 20 years before relocating to CSU Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA as a professor of biology and the pre-health advisor. Along with my interest in reproductive endocrinology, I have made a major commitment to addressing the under representation of minorities in academia and specifically in the sciences. I accomplish this through teaching courses such a Minority Health Disparities as well as presenting seminars and mentoring students about career development at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) across the country. It is in fact that experience that led me to write my book on mentoring and diversity.
