Jim Milio

Jim Milio is an award-winning entertainment industry veteran who has produced, directed and/or written over 500 hours of film and television content, including globally successful feature films, award-winning documentaries, reality and nonfiction television series, mini-series, and specials.

In television, Milio wrote, directed, and produced nine seasons of the three-time Emmy-nominated television series Dog Whisperer for National Geographic, which sold in over 180 countries globally. He co-wrote, directed, and produced during seven seasons of the CBS hit series Rescue911 (William Shatner). Milio also produced the Emmy-nominated ABC special Great Moments in Disney Animation, The Discovery Eco-Challenge Australia, the mini-series Founding Fathers for A&E, and Roswell: Startling New Evidence for the SyFy Channel.

In film, Milio wrote and directed Men Seeking Women: (Will Ferrell), produced The Other Side of Hell (Alan Arkin) for NBC, It Came from Hollywood (Dan Ackroyd) for Paramount Pictures, Hearts of Fire a feature for CBS, and he is the co-executive producer of the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Most recently, Milio produced the reality series Operation Hidden Treasures, which aired its first season on the Discovery Channel and can now be seen on Tubi.

Jim Milio recently wrote his second book, Jim’s Hollywood Finity Stones, a practical guidebook on how to succeed in Hollywood.

Milio has won three People’s Choice Awards and has been nominated for several Emmy Awards, Writer’s Guild Awards, and a Director’s Guild Award. Milio also enjoys teaching "The Business of Entertainment" and "Producing and Directing Reality and Documentary Television" at UCLAx.

Milio is married to film financier, producer and fellow UCLAx instructor Jeanette Milio. They have three children – Verenice, Alessandro and Sonia.
