Having read law at the London School of Economics, I gravitated towards publishing, and for many years was managing editor of a UK magazine company. Most recently I published a souvenir issue of Borsetshire Life for the 60th anniversary of the BBC Radio 4 series The Archers. My first love has always been history, and on moving to Brighton I discovered the life of Sake Dean Mahomet, a Regency entrepreneur who has become the main subject of my novel The Hindostanee Coffee House. This is the first in a quintet of historical crime novels which covers the Regency. The second novel, The Jane Austen Murders, is published in late 2012. My eclectic interests range from Richard Wagner to Liverpool FC!
