Eudenilson L. Albuquerque

He did his undegraduate studies in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN, Brazil), and graduate studies in Physics at Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ, Brazil) – MSc level, and at the University of Essex (England) – PhD level. He held visitor positions at the International Center for Theoretical Physics (Trieste, Italy) in 1982, 1984 and 1987 (status of Visiting Scientist), University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) in 1991/92 (status of Senior Visiting Fellow) and Harvard University (Cambridge-MA, United States) in 1995/96 (status of Visiting Scholar). He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) in 2003, at Boston University (United States) in 2006, and at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) - Zürich (Switzerland) in 2008. He is currently Professor of Physics and Biophysics at UFRN, where he served as Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (1987-1991). Together with Prof. M.G. Cottam, he published the book "Polariton in Periodic and Quasiperiodic Structures" (Elsevier, Amsterdam, 2004).
