Marianne Sargent

Marianne Sargent is a foundation stage teacher turned educational writer. She has written 14 books for prominent educational publishers including Featherstone Education, Bloomsbury Education and Practical Pre-School Books.

Marianne is specifically interested in developing critical thinking skills and fostering creativity in young children. As a nursery and reception teacher in maintained schools in Jersey and England she delighted in setting up provocations that appealed to children’s imaginations, creating a buzz of excitement and enthusiasm in the classroom.

After studying for an MA in Early Years, Marianne went on to deliver teacher training before becoming a writer. She has contributed to Nursery World magazine, Early Years Educator and Practical Pre-School magazines.
