Postal Historian and Long Distance Backpacker. Former soldier and Senior Curator at The Postal Museum who took early retirement after thirty years of museum work to dedicate more time for long distance backpacking. Having walked 2500+ miles on a 'Three Points of the Compass' hike across mainland Britain, I walked all of the England and Wales National Trails and continue to knock off trails in the UK and overseas that interest me. This is interspersed with reading, research and writing, in particular, for my popular 'threepointsofthecompass' website and blog.
