Nigel Paul Morgan

Nigel Paul Morgan is an author of fiction for children, young adults and not-so-young adults. His first novel, 'Under the Cinder Tip', a thrilling time-slip adventure (for young adults and adults) includes the bloody events of the Merthyr Rising of 1831 and the execution of Dic Penderyn. The novel was shortlisted for the prestigious Tir na n'Og award in 2008.

His latest novel, for children and young adults, is called 'Teabag the Magnificent and the Road to Wembley'. It is a crazy football adventure, where the local village team, Barrowmarsh Thursdays, assisted by a small and scruffy dog, take on the mighty 'United' - Premier League and European champions - in the third round of the FA Cup.

Nigel is a history graduate, and has been Headteacher of a Swansea primary school for eighteen years. He is also a poet, a musician, and an American Civil War re-enactor.

He lives with his wife, Lisa, their family and a large black labradoodle called Marmite, in Swansea, South Wales. He regards himself as a Roman Catholic Druid. He is passionate about everything Celtic and is a fanatical Swansea City FC supporter.

Nigel's all-time favourite books are, 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens, and 'To Serve Them All My Days', by R.F Delderfield.

His favourite authors include Thomas Hardy, The Bronte Sisters, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. He is also a huge fan of the works of Alice Sebold, Barbara Erskine, Susan Hill, Raymond Briggs, CS Lewis, Tolkien and R.F. Delderfield (and many, many more)

Nigel's favourite musicians are the amazing Fairport Convention.
