Author Barbara Fanson is a traditionally published and self-published author/illustrator. She has written and illustrated three children's fiction picture books: Shirl the Squirrel Had a Great Fall, Robin Sees a Monster and Shirl the Squirrel Rises to New Heights. She is currently touring K to grade 2 students at elementary schools.

Author Barbara Fanson is a graphic designer who started teaching desktop publishing in the 1980s. She taught Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver for Seneca College in Toronto and Mohawk College in Hamilton.

She has also taught newsletter design, how to run a desktop publishing, business classes, and email promotions. She has written over 30 books—mostly computer and design books— traditionally published and self-published.
