Tony Rea

Tony Rea is a writer and people's historian who lives in Devon, England, writing historical fiction and short stories.

Tony has recently finished working with Sapere Books on a series of five World War 2 action novels featuring RAF pilot Gus 'Bouncer' Beaumont. All first five books [BATTLE, BLENHEIM, BUTCHERBIRD, BOMBER and BUZZ BOMB] are now available in E-book and paperback formats. With other Sapere authors. Tony co-wrote A MIRACLE OF DELIVERENCE, publiched in April 2026.

Following a successful series of GSCE history books, Tony wrote SOUTH DEVON IN THE GREAT WAR (Pen and Sword, 2016) which was followed in 2019 by a stage play, THE ARMISTICE, about the Great War and how it impacted Ivybridge and the South Hams. His first novel, RED SKY OVER DARTMOOR (2017) and its sequel, THE ROAD TO ENNISKEAN (2023) feature the debonaire Marc Bergeron and his grittey Irish side-kick, Doncha Ryan. They are set in France, Russia, England and Ireland 1918-22.

In his spare time Tony is a local councillor, a trustee of Ivybridge Community Association and volunteers with the fantastic IvyFridge community fridge project. He enjoys sailing, walking on Dartmoor, tending his allotment and spending time with his ever expanding family.
