D. A. Horncastle

Born in Somerset (UK) David moved to South Yorkshire during WW2 and has lived there ever since. A graduate engineer and qualified teacher, he was always interested in writing and made his debut with a centenary history of his Golf Club. An abiding interest in the Texas Rangers, led him to write eleven Western novels for the British publisher, Robert Hales's Black Horse Western Series. Most of these have been reproduced in paperback. David has also researched the early history of WW2 and this has resulted in two novels on the career of a Hurricane fighter pilot published on Kindle. David's latest novel, 'Whither Thou Goest' published on Kindle and in peperback, celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the 1820 Settlers - a group of people who were encouraged by the British Government to colonise South Africa.

David's latest novel, 'South Sea Fever', published in 2022, is set against the background of what became known as the the 'South Sea Bubble' when the South Sea Company collapsed spectacularly in 1720 in the world's very first financial crash.

David and his wife, Julie, celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 2020.
