David Gentle

David Gentle is the bestselling author of On the Tip of My Tongue (Bloomsbury) a quiz book and encyclopaedia rolled into one, The Ministry of Quizzes (Pan Macmillan), a fresh collection of inventive quiz formats, and his new book, Quizdom of the Crowd (Quarto), published in October 2025, a guesstimating game that allows readers to play against the public.

When not penning quiz books or occasionally hosting local pub quizzes, he leads a global marketing team for an international company. David lives near Bath with his frequently quizzed wife and their two sons.
