Melissa Turner

Melissa Smith Turner is an indie folk artist and former journalist who uses her talents to write and illustrate children's books. She's married to a guy named Charlie. She's the mom of five funny kids. She's a native Mississippian. She's passionate about good coffee, beach trips, and hoop earrings. Her books are read worldwide by the sweetest, most vibrant little readers.

She spent many years writing and illustrating silly rhyming stories for her own children before she finally decided to publish one of the stories "just to see what would happen." That bright and simple first book became the beginning of Melissa's very first book series, Alma Louise (named after her real life, creative, energetic, spunky, little grandmother). Next, came a second book series called Hurley McCoy. Since then, many books have been added to the collection and there are many more to come!
