Peter Richards

Peter Richards is a Master of Wine, TV presenter and podcaster, familiar to millions through this broadcasting work on the likes of the BBC, Sky One, ESPN, Food Network, BBC radio and his Wine Blast podcast, a top-10 show in the US, UK and globally.

An award-winning writer with four books under his belt and credits including The Sunday Times, Decanter, Guardian, Financial Times, Food & Wine, World of Fine Wine and more, Peter has been described variously as a ‘Rising star’, ’National treasure’ and ‘Best in the business’.

It helps being one part of a unique double act with his wife and fellow Master of Wine, Susie Barrie, with whom he co-hosts the acclaimed Wine Festival Winchester and has won many awards. Along with Susie, Peter is one of just a handful of Masters of Wine to pass all parts of the gruelling examination first time, earning the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award as the top student in his graduation.

All this wine stuff has come as something of a surprise for Peter, who originally planned to be a normal writer and journalist after graduating from Oxford University with a First Class degree in modern languages. But a stint working as a journalist in Chile led to a commission to write a guide to the nation’s vineyards – and he hasn’t looked back since.

Making wine entertaining and exciting is what Peter does best. In his spare time, he runs half marathons for charity and acts as Susie’s ineffectual sous-chef.
