Tess Read

Tess Read is the author of ten books ranging from humour and gift books to more serious subjects. Her most recent books include The Secret Diary of Eric Cowell, a spoof diary of Simon Cowell's baby, a Christmas book called Sprouts! (Everything you never wanted to know about the humble Brussels Sprout), and a more serious work called The Secret Life of Money, a book about the economics of everyday life. She has also written the beautifully illustrated gift books Mr Benn's Little Book of Life and The Wombles' Guide to Life. She has also written two business books about the internet, and a travel guide book to Vietnam.

Her latest book is The Contented Little Husband – strapline ‘The hilarious guide to turning your slovenly spouse into the perfect partner.’ This highly amusing book is all about the pitfalls of modern married life and how to skirt round them rather than plunging in headfirst.

After many years of living in London Tess recently moved to Exeter where she writes a column for the magazine Exeter Living. Before moving to Exeter she and her husband took their three children out of school and went travelling around the world for a year home-schooling them. They had a wonderful, and at times disastrous trip!

Tess lives in Exeter with three children, three turtles, and her husband. They are all violently happy and the turtles are certainly contented.
